The PocketFrog toolkit provides an easy-to-learn device independent platform for the development of games on PocketPC & related devices. These pages are provided as a resource for budding game programmers to assist them in becoming fully proficient in the use of PocketFrog in the shortest possible time. The toolkit is the work of Thierry Tremblay. If you like PocketFrog I suggest you make a PAYPAL donation to help the work continue. See PocketFrog home for details.

June 2007 - PocketFrog and PocketHAL continue to be available though support from the Author has dried up.
Many enthusiasts still develop games with these tools and there is no faster system available for hobbyists to use at an affordable price (donation ware)

The latest release, version PocketHAL 0.7.7 Released 14 September is built on the
PocketHAL system and now includes VGA support.
Note: The Hekkus sound system sample on the Hekkus site is more up to date than the one on the PocketFrog site.

Thinking of buying a book on programming ? There are books which tell you how to use Visual C++, books about coding games for PocketPC and books about general programming for Windows CE. My suggestion is to buy a really good C++ reference book & rely on online help for all the rest. Spend some time browsing available books in a bookshop. If you buy online you may save money but it's best to know the book suits you first so make sure you have a good look through potential purposes in your local technical boopkshop
